Ardgillan Castle Wedding Venue Feature

On Thursday 2nd  June I went to visit venue number two, the breathtaking Ardgillan Castle. Located between Balbriggan & Skerries. If you have ever visited here you will understand what I mean. Everytime I go to Ardgillan I literally fall in love with it all over again. Whether I go for coffee in the tea rooms, bring my daughters to the  playground or just walk around the grounds. I adore it and Ardgillan was recently featured on Lovin Dublin as the best park in Dublin to visit, now that's pretty cool.

So onto the beautiful Castle, I met with Ann-Marie and Danielle and we chatted about the venue and they kindly showed me around and let me take pictures as we went. Ann-Marie is the lady who will look after your booking in Ardgillan. If you require anything, such as local suppliers, she has all the knowledge you need. She describe the Venue as "Stunning, unique and historic".

"Set in spectacular parklands overlooking the Irish Sea, as well as the castle, the demesne features a walled garden, rose garden, Potentilla garden and a magnificent herbaceous border all of which present a marvellous profusion of colour for photographs."  

Ardgillan Castle is an exclusive Civil Ceremony venue, currently  they do not have the option of an evening reception, do not let this deter you. If you're having a Civil Ceremony then definitely visit, I promise you  will  love it. 

What to expect if you have your Ceremony Here:

Firstly you will get to have your ceremony in a castle, this in itself is special. You will also have the Castle to yourself.

There is a private entrance to the Castle that leads into a corridor, the entrance to the opulent Castle Drawing Room lies here. This is where the Civil Ceremonies are  held.

When I walked into this space I felt like I was going back in time. It has an old worldly feel to to it and the room also features a beautiful chandelier.

Drawing Room set up for Afternoon Tea

Hire of the venue is €500 with chair covers and candle stands supplied. It is an intimate venue with seating for fifty, if you have more, there is capacity for fifty people to stand in the room.Floor to ceiling windows in the room offer a fabulous view of the parklands and Irish Sea.

You can bring in your own wine and prosecco for the reception after the ceremony, Corkage is priced at  €5 per bottle and of course, any wine that is not opend is taken home by the wedding party. You can also avail of the Dining Room for your reception, this is another extravagant space. As part of your package you can also avail of  light bites such as Hors D'oeuvres, scones, sandwiches tea & coffee. These  are all offered as various packages and prices, which you can request.

With this location you are also getting to avail of the exquisite demesne and gardens to take your wedding pictures. Oh my, there is no place more beautiful than Ardgillan to get your pictures taken.

When I visited the Drawing Room was set-up for afternoon tea. It looked so delicious, I would have loved to stay. The afternoon tea is €25 per person, so you could visit for afternoon tea and get to see the room that your ceremony would be held, sounds very fabulous to me.

I cannot leave this post without talking about the views and the gardens. I took some pictures the day I was there so I could show you first hand how idyllic Ardgillan Castle is. I am going to let them speak for themselves as the beauty shines through.
