Hello all, this post sees the start of my Wedding Venue Feature. Although I am married five years, I still feel the excitement of going into a venue and seeing what they have to offer.
This venue, one of three and if the uptake is good I will visit more venue's. Feel free to share and spread the word if it is of interest (These posts are not sponsored) and you can also follow my blog on Facebook | Instagram |Twitter | Snapchat | Pinterest
On Saturday 28th May I visited the Conyngham Arms Hotel located in the quaint village of Slane. Although this Hotel is located on the main street, do not let this put you off looking here. Its looks are deceiving, as it doesn't look as spacious as it actually is. As the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover, think the same for when you are venue hunting.
I was shown around the venue by the lovely Louise, who is the Wedding & Events Co-ordinator. She instantly made me feel welcome. After showing me around, we chatted for a while and Louise was happy for me to stay on, so I could take in the venue by myself. I asked Louise to describe the venue in 3 words, she said "Intimate,Warm & the staff are amazing".
From the moment I stepped into the hotel I was drawn in. The decor is French Country/shabby chic inspired. Every room I entered offered something different and it got prettier and prettier.
What to expect if you get married here:
The hotel is very intimate so you have no fear of losing your guests, as every room interconnects. This was a must for us when we were venue hunting.
The hotel can be solely yours on your wedding day and the day after, if you wish and at no extra venue hire cost. The hotel has 14 bespoke rooms. Bride & Groom get to choose which room they would like to stay in on the night of their wedding.
The hotel do not bring in function staff, all staff are part of the hotel, so you get that personal experience. The staff that serve your wedding dinner will also serve your wedding party breakfast. Head Chef Killian O'Donohoe will gladly cater for all of your needs.
I can confirm the Old Bridge room is the most popular choice for the Bride & Groom, bow that could be down to four poster bed that it holds.
The Lavender Suite:
The "Lavender Suite" can seat up to 150, or if you have a smaller wedding that can also be catered for. Civil Ceremonies are very popular here and the suite can be set-up for your ceremony and dinner, as the room divides in two so you have plenty to work with.

The Lavender Suite opens up to the the garden with steps leading down. This literally made me go WOW when I saw it on my visit. The sun was shining when I was here, so I could easily visualise the gardens decorated with Fairy lights and lanterns for the evening.
The tables for dinner are also decorated with real lavender taken from the garden, I thought this was a lovely touch.
Your Ceremony can also be held in the stunning garden, where you will exchange your vows under the oak tree. The garden also has an outdoor bar, so your guests do not have far to go.

Other Rooms you can avail off in the Hotel:
The Sitting Room is located just off the Lavender Room , Louise explained that this room is normally allocated to children. If you have a number of children going to your wedding, this can be used as a space for them to be entertained, whether you bring an entertainer in or set up the room as an activity space e.g. colours, board games etc. Alternately it can be used as a space for people to go and chill during the wedding or at the evening time.

The hotel has another space,The Library, where afternoon tea is served, this only costs €15 per person. You can see how fab it is from the picture. You could also have afternoon tea before your wedding as part of your hen party.
At the back of this room there is a private dining area that seats 20. Couples are choosing to have an intimate wedding dinner after their ceremony and a big evening celebration.

The next wedding fair will be after Summer, so keep an eye out for this. The last wedding fair they had brought in 200 people and there are 45 weddings booked for this year, with many more booked in for next year.
The only problem I can think of with going to this hotel is that you will not want to leave.

Love and Sparkle.
