A Lidl Bit Of Beauty Goes A Long Way

If you were following my snapchat during the week, maryroche2, you would have seen that on Thursday 23rd I attended the launch of Lidl's Cien Makeup and Professional Hair Care range in the very fabulous surroundings of Dylan Bradshaw's .

The range includes a number of essentials, including a multitasking BB Cream. It has an SPF 15 and comes in two shades. The range also features several shades of lipstick, lip gloss, nail varnish and mascara.  The hair care range has a high end brand look to it and it smells so good, the collection offers shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and a heat protection spray.

The price is, as would you expect coming from Lidl, extremely affordable. On first impressions, the products I was most drawn to  where, the  lipsticks and after swatching them, I was impressed by their strong pigment. The lips gloss again has a good pigment to them and a nice shine when on the lips, lastly the BB Cream. I had used the BB Cream that was in Lidl before however I find this one to be of a thicker consistency compared to the previous range. The Nude Brown lipstick could be a dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy.

Images below of me wearing the BB Cream In Medium /Dark and the Nude Brown lipstick.
The Lipstick and gloss come in 6 shades including frozen ice, sugar plum and bold bordeaux.

This range is not just seasonal, it is here to stay. So you can pick up the whole collection over time if you want. I think this range is also a great option for teenagers that are at the experimenting stage with makeup as it will not break the bank. Prices range from €1.89 to €2.99. The branding of the new collection is fresh and sleek and  it has great options for affordable day wear.

Nail Varnish comes in 6 shades

Eyeshadow comes in 4 shades

Mascara in Waterproof & Volume

The Cien Collection will be hitting stores on the 30th of  June so keep an eye out.

Bellingham Castle Wedding Venue

The Entrance  Hello all, this post feature will be the final one for now as part of my wedding venue feature. With this feature the spotlight is on Bellingham Castle which I fell in love with it, of course, each of the venues has charmed me in different ways. As you will see from the pictures the was shining for my  visit which made it extremely easy for me to take pictures of this breathtaking venue. I received a very warm welcome and I was shown around by the lovely Ciara. She explained that herself and Patrick look after the needs of Brides & Grooms. They are on hand for the run up to your big day.  The Castle is, as you would expect, extremely opulent. The Castle was renovated and re-opened in 2014.  There are up to 150 weddings a year here, so you guessed right, it is a highly sought after venue. As always early booking is essential, do not put booking your venue on the ...

Finally Contouring is getting the push

Anyone else as happy as me to see that contouring is not as popular in the makeup world. I personally could never get used to it. I think it looks amazing in photographers or on a night out when done right. If you prefer a more heavy look. I believe strobing has been around before it was just called highlighting then. So do not be confused!!! For me I prefer a more natural look when it comes to makeup. The whole idea with strobing is that you can see the skin and it is not heavily covered up.  I have been using the Mac Strobe Cream for a few months now. You can also strobe with powder.  Mary-Loumanizer by the Balm Mac Soft and Gentle  What I like about Mac Strobe? It makes the skin look radiant, fresh and healthy (for tired Mammies like me it's a must) It's easily applied. It's a no fuss product, there is no messing with it. It can be worn alone or added after foundation is applied. With some blush you are good to go. ...
