The Entrance |
With this feature the spotlight is on Bellingham Castle which I fell in love with it, of course, each of the venues has charmed me in different ways. As you will see from the pictures the was shining for my visit which made it extremely easy for me to take pictures of this breathtaking venue.
I received a very warm welcome and I was shown around by the lovely Ciara. She explained that herself and Patrick look after the needs of Brides & Grooms. They are on hand for the run up to your big day. The Castle is, as you would expect, extremely opulent. The Castle was renovated and re-opened in 2014. There are up to 150 weddings a year here, so you guessed right, it is a highly sought after venue. As always early booking is essential, do not put booking your venue on the long finger in case you miss out.
I asked Ciara to describe the venue in three words, when put on the spot can be harder then you think. She describes the venue as being "homely, exclusive and unique".

Viewing of the castle is by appointment only and you can arrange a time that suits you. Viewings generally take place on Mondays and up until 11.00pm so this provides couples with plenty of time to get and see the venue. Trust me, you will be looking for places to hide in the Castle as you will not want to leave.
What to Expect if you get married here:
The Castle is exclusive to you and your guests on the day and night of your wedding and also for the day and night after if you choose to book. Every window offers gorgeous view onto the grounds. (So don't forget to look through the windows) I am finding that I have become slightly obsessed with windows in Venues as of late.
There is no hidden cost for the hire, as part of your package, it is a requirement that you book up the 19 bedrooms located in the Castle. These rooms are absolutely stunning, each room is unique and 4 of the rooms have stand-alone baths in them.
Room with a view |
Sir Henry's room, is the most popular choice for Newly Weds to stay in on the night of their wedding and it is breathtaking. Look at that bath it is just fabulous and the views from it are gorgeous. I can see a quirky picture opportunity with this bath a bride in her dress, it would offer something different to your memories.
The wedding package is €100 per person. This includes exclusive use of the Castle and grounds, an afternoon reception, five-course dinner with wine, prosecco and evening food.
You an choose from various menus for your food option. The venue also caters for civil ceremonies at a cost of €500. The setup for reception dinner holds up to 200 but they have catered for a party of 8 before, so whatever your need is they can fit it.

There are plenty of rooms for your guests to relax in and have some quiet time if they so choose. They also cater children at the Castle. There are rooms that you can use to keep them entertained The Casement Room caters to this need it is equipped with a Nintendo and Wii. The Oratory also caters for children this is a spacious room and it could be setup with colours and games to ensure they are kept entertained.
There are also two beautiful reception rooms that open up into each other. This is where your processo, tea, and coffee will be served upon arrival.
The detail of this I love. |
The beautiful views of the grounds are endless even the breakfast room has it.
Your wedding dinner will be served in the very elegant Bute Suite. This suite looks out onto the gardens and is located on the lower floor of the Castle. Another beautiful space with plenty of room for your guests. O'Bryen Bar is also located on this floor and it is a modern space that leads out onto the patio /garden area. There is also an option of hosting pre-dinner drinks here.
The beautiful garden space, perfect for your photos and drinks.
The Bute Suite:
You have a choice of crisp white linen or a beautiful vintage lace dressing on the tables. I really like this element of choice, I fell in love with the vintage lace. In terms of table decor, you can choose between classic candelabras, clear crystal candle stands and a silver tree, these are most popular for a winter wedding.
Top Table |
Your guests are guaranteed tea & coffee on tap. It is served in The Buttery Kitchen until 3.00am.
Your guests could have a little late night snack in the Buttery after all that dancing.
For a really cool photo head to The Boiler Room, you are guaranteed a very quirky wedding photo here.
The table plan for dinner is placed on a mirror just outside the Bute Suite and also on a table near the reception.
This venue is truly special and it is worth a visit as seeing is believing.
Love & Sparkle
