SS16 Fashion & Makeup Looks

So for this post I am combining fashion and makeup looks for SS16. According to Jo Elvin  Editor of Glamour Magazine this year is all about bringing it back to basics and the three key pieces that we need are:

Tailored trousers, knee length skirt and trench coat (they are here to stay). You can style these key pieces up and down for day to night.

My top tips:

For me a staple item of clothing to have in your wardrobe is blazer. They instantly smarten up an outfit and they can be worn very casual with skinny jeans and runners. For Spring/Summer invest in a brighter coloured blazer e.g. pastel, blue, navy or even print.

Start adding some lighter pieces to your wardrobe for the transition e.g. shirts, trousers and tops as having these to hand means you can instantly freshen up your look.

A handbag is also a key factor, well for me anyway (I love a big bag). Move away from the all black bag by adding bags that are brighter.

Skinny jeans are another key piece in my wardrobe. What I love about them is that you can dress them up and down so easily. As the weather changes don't be afraid to try a different colour, like a brighter blue, white, coral or burgundy. Denim dresses and shirts are another key trend to watch out for.

I am also loving shirt dresses which can be worn over skinny jeans or tailored trousers. You can also wear them with a bare leg and heels for a night out and the prints they are available in are so pretty.

Below I am sharing my favorite fashion and makeup looks for SS16.

As always let me know what your fav look is?

I adore Handbags and Parfois sell amazing bags. I always go to the one in the Pavilions Swords and there is another one located on Henry Street. They are so affordable and the quality is amazing. The bags I have featured here will ensure that you brighten up your collection for SS16.

I am no makeup artist, but I know what I like and when it comes to makeup for SS16, I like a fresh faced look (think holiday and brighter nights). Soft tones like, pink, coral, nude and bronze. Complete the look with fresh lightweight foundation and some highlighting. Celebs makeup looks I have featured are from Kate Hudson, Holly Willoughby, Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence. Then closer to home the beautiful Pippa O'Connor. She always nails the fresh look and Tara Makeup is the queen of creating dewy fresh makeup looks. One Day I will get my makeup done by her.

Flormar Revolution Lipstick In Burgundy Mission

These are the three berry colours available    I was delighted to receive a sample of the Revolution lipstick in burgundy mission, along with the lip liner to match. These were Kindly sent from RDC Communications . Flormar  was launched this year in Ireland and it has proven to be a huge success and a popular choice for those who want affordability and quality.  I tested this lipstick out over Christmas, as I am trying to be more adventurous and try out stronger colours, as I normally tend to stick with nude tones. This lipstick is a rich berry colour with blue undertones, having these undertones makes your teeth appear whiter.   "Revolution is Flormar premium lipstick containing shea butter, cocoa, olives, a super pigment and easy 8 hr staying power" . Swatch of lipstick and liner  Application Tips: Before application ensure your lips are in good condition especially in this harsh weather. Exfoliate to remove any dry skin and apply vase

I adore it and Ardgillan was recently featured on Lovin Dublin as the best park in Dublin to visit, now that's pretty cool. So onto the beautiful Castle, I met with Ann-Marie and Danielle and we chatt

Finally Contouring is getting the push

Anyone else as happy as me to see that contouring is not as popular in the makeup world. I personally could never get used to it. I think it looks amazing in photographers or on a night out when done right. If you prefer a more heavy look. I believe strobing has been around before it was just called highlighting then. So do not be confused!!! For me I prefer a more natural look when it comes to makeup. The whole idea with strobing is that you can see the skin and it is not heavily covered up.  I have been using the Mac Strobe Cream for a few months now. You can also strobe with powder.  Mary-Loumanizer by the Balm Mac Soft and Gentle  What I like about Mac Strobe? It makes the skin look radiant, fresh and healthy (for tired Mammies like me it's a must) It's easily applied. It's a no fuss product, there is no messing with it. It can be worn alone or added after foundation is applied. With some blush you are good to go.  Lo
