Afternoon Tea With The Secret Obession

On Sunday I attended a "Tea Party" in The D Hotel to celebrate The Secret Obsession third birthday. I was very lucky to be one of 10 winners from a competition that were selected to attend. I was really looking forward to meeting Aoibhe as I have been following her since I started blogging in July. It is always a bonus when the people you admire live up to your expectations. She is so lovely and is a ball of pure positive energy.

As always any brand mentioned is linked through the post just click on their name.

Me trying to pose

Look at this and its a real roses too

I am all about the detail when it comes to events and planning. The small detail  that pulls it all together can be lost during the planning process. For me this is the most important. The room set-up and decor were fabulous. The little touches like the individual name cards, the rose that was placed inside each napkin, the lanterns and right down to the beads dotted around each table. It was all just, oh so pretty.

Always yes to bubbles

Just so pretty

So delish

We had champagne on arrival ,afternoon tea and delicious cakes. Makeup artist Vanessa J Williams also did a makeup demonstration, the look she created was based on Kylie Jenner and it was so stunning. Seriously, check her out, I picked up great tips from her (and yes I took notes on my phone).

Some tips I took away from the demo; blend, blend and blend those eyes also dab, dab and dab when it comes to powder and concealer, practice makes perfect and go and try out something new when it comes to makeup. It could be something simple like a new lip colour or eyeshadow. With budget brands everywhere now, it will not break the bank to go and try something different.

Vanessa's work, so stunning

The event was sponsored by Gosh Ireland and we received gorgeous goodie bags. I also won a prize for best tweet.I received a voucher from Biofresh Skincare for a full microdermabrasion facial and also included with the prize was some gorgeous full size products.

My fab prize from BioFresh

We also got to meet the the lovely Jeanie creator of Ladies First Cocktails Ireland's one and only low calorie cocktail company. She set-up her new business four months ago, it is going to be huge (trust me) and the best part each cocktail contains only 60 calories. My cocktail of choice is always a Cosmo or a Pornstar Martini. We were given two cocktails to try from the new range. I got the Poronstar Martini and it was delish.

The full taste is all there even though they are low in calories. I tested it out while I was typing up this post (would be rude not to). My verdict, definitely go and check out Ladies First cocktails especially if you're a cocktail lover like myself ,you will not be disappointed. With the party season coming up they will be great to have in the house. I just spotted on the Ladies First Facebook page that a Strawberry Daiquiri cocktail will be coming soon.

Another place to check out is Heavenly Hair. I had the pleasure of sitting beside the fabulous owner. Her salon is located at the back of Fuschia in Swords and Drogheda, so while you get your makeup done you can get your hair done. Prices are also very affordable, now what lady does not like the sound of that.So go check them out.

Thanks to Aoibhe and the girls for an amazing day. As Aoibhe said it's all about supporting Irish. She supported local brands and businesses in and around Drogheda by having them involved in her celebrations and that is really great to see.

They are on hand for the run up to your big day.  The Castle is, as you would expect, extremely opulent. The Castle was renovated and re-opened in 2014.  There are up to 150 weddings a year here, so you guessed right, it is a highly sought after venue. As always early booking is essential, do not put booking your venue on the ...

These venues and activities will ease the stress of planning so enjoy the read. Organising a hen party can be a very difficult and tiring task.
