Roganstown Hotel Wedding Fair

Stunning Manor House
Hello all, for this post, I am putting the spotlight back on Roganstown Hotel and Country Club. I was delighted to be part of their Wedding Fair on the 24th September where I spoke about how to "Establish Your Wedding Story". I shared tips on planning, trends, adding details and some pointers for the day of your wedding. I also shared how couples can incorporate wedding trends and details into Roganstown as part of their wedding day.

I am a former Rogasnton Bride so it will always hold a special place in my heart and it made speaking even more magical. Roganstown is an elegant Manor House located in Swords, it is set away from all the hustle and bustle and is surrounded by a beautiful golf course and garden, making it the perfect location for wedding day photographs. They also have an on-site spa called Sakura which means you can get your pre-wedding spa treatments done there too.
As a venue It is charming, elegant and intimate.

With backdrops like this, you have everything you need at Roganstown

Beautiful Flowers by Forget Me Not

When you're wedding venue hunting you will no doubt go around to many wedding showcase and fairs in various hotels. There is a difference between the two, at a showcase or open evening you get to see the hotel setup as it would be for a wedding and you can chat to the Wedding team while you are there.

At a wedding fair, you get to see the venue set up with the added bonus of having various suppliers onsite this allows you to get a feel of what you can have on your wedding day. You can read my previous post on Roganstown here featuring their wedding showcase.

Japanese Gardens, another Location for wedding day pictures

The Aungier Suite caters for up to 200 people it also has a gorgeous balcony that overlooks the golf course and gardens. McLoughlin's Resturant in Roganstown could also be booked for a smaller wedding reception. You can read all about their wedding packages here.

Set up for an initimate ceremony

At the recent wedding fair, I met some lovely suppliers and I am going to share them with you now.

Something Sweet:

The perfect detail for adults and children alike, have it on arrival for your guests or as a sweet treat after dinner. A fabulous white candy cart full of a treat's with some added extras.

They also have a beautiful wishing well designed for holding your wedding cards in, how perfect is that, no worries about cards going missing so your best man can relax. There is also a key for extra safeguarding. All the carts are handmade by the owners Father, I thought that was lovely. A real personal touch goes into the design and detail. In terms of costings, it is very responsible you can check out all the details and various package prices here

Spiritual Ceremonies:

Another important element to your wedding day is the type of ceremony that you want to have. A conversation you should have soon after you get engaged if not before.

"We at Spiritual Ceremonies, take time with you to design your ceremony, so that it reflects you as a couple, honouring your beliefs and values, ensuring they are reflected in the content and length of your ceremony. When speaking with your Celebrant you can choose any theme of music, readings or poems that convey a message about you and your partner. We can also perform the ceremony indoors and outdoors (outdoors is subject to requirements under the Civil Registrations legislation)"

There are various choices out there and one of them is having a spiritual ceremony. Their ceremonies are created "With You, For You and About You" Roganstown will cater for this type of ceremony amoung others to be held onsite. You can find out more about them here

 The MCM Trio:

Music is one of the vital threads that flow's through your wedding day. At the Fair, we were treated to some gorgeous performances from The MCM Trio. Great to have as part of your ceremony music or as your guests arrive at Roganstown, they would be perfect for pre-dinner entertainment.

Getting married outdoors at Roganstown? They would suit that too, I can see them performing against the backdrop of the manor or the next day at a post-wedding barbeque. You can read more about them here

Forget Me Not:

Flowers are a detail that encompasses your wedding day from beginning to end.
Forget Me Not is a fantastic florist that supplies the flowers to Roganstown as part of your wedding package. Forget me not supplied these gorgeous flowers as part of  Wedding Fair setup.

They also did the reception flowers for our wedding I wanted some changes made to our flowers and it was no trouble at all getting them done. When looking at your flowers my tip is to wait until you have your venue booked, colour palette chosen and your dress is chosen. The florist will work with you in relation to your needs then as they will have an image of your wedding story. See more of their work here

Tailor Made Wedding stationery:

You can see some of their selection below and read more about them here

Creative Cakes:

Your cake will be a real feature at your reception. Again it can reflect the couple, your venue, colour palette and wedding theme if you have one. These elements will have an impact in relation to the type of cake that you opt for. Here are some that were displayed from Creative Cakes, you can more about them here

So be sure to keep an eye on the Roganstown website for their upcoming wedding showcases and fairs.

Flormar Revolution Lipstick In Burgundy Mission

These are the three berry colours available    I was delighted to receive a sample of the Revolution lipstick in burgundy mission, along with the lip liner to match. These were Kindly sent from RDC Communications . Flormar  was launched this year in Ireland and it has proven to be a huge success and a popular choice for those who want affordability and quality.  I tested this lipstick out over Christmas, as I am trying to be more adventurous and try out stronger colours, as I normally tend to stick with nude tones. This lipstick is a rich berry colour with blue undertones, having these undertones makes your teeth appear whiter.   "Revolution is Flormar premium lipstick containing shea butter, cocoa, olives, a super pigment and easy 8 hr staying power" . Swatch of lipstick and liner  Application Tips: Before application ensure your lips are in good condition especially in this harsh weather. Exfoliate to remove any dry skin and apply vase

Ardgillan Castle Wedding Venue Feature

Hello all, I hope you enjoyed reading my first venue feature as I am really enjoying it. I have felt so welcomed by the venues that I have visited so far.  Please feel free to share and spread the word if this feature is of interest to any engaged couples you know. (These posts are not sponsored) and you can also follow my blog on    Facebook   |   Instagram   | Twitter  |  Snapchat  |  Pinterest On Thursday 2nd  June I went to visit venue number two, the breathtaking Ardgillan Castl e. Located between Balbriggan & Skerries. If you have ever visited here you will understand what I mean. Everytime I go to Ardgillan I literally fall in love with it all over again. Whether I go for coffee in the tea rooms, bring my daughters to the  playground or just walk around the grounds. I adore it and Ardgillan was recently featured on Lovin Dublin as the best park in Dublin to visit, now that's pretty cool. So onto the beautiful Castle, I met with Ann-Marie and Danielle and we chatt

Finally Contouring is getting the push

Anyone else as happy as me to see that contouring is not as popular in the makeup world. I personally could never get used to it. I think it looks amazing in photographers or on a night out when done right. If you prefer a more heavy look. I believe strobing has been around before it was just called highlighting then. So do not be confused!!! For me I prefer a more natural look when it comes to makeup. The whole idea with strobing is that you can see the skin and it is not heavily covered up.  I have been using the Mac Strobe Cream for a few months now. You can also strobe with powder.  Mary-Loumanizer by the Balm Mac Soft and Gentle  What I like about Mac Strobe? It makes the skin look radiant, fresh and healthy (for tired Mammies like me it's a must) It's easily applied. It's a no fuss product, there is no messing with it. It can be worn alone or added after foundation is applied. With some blush you are good to go.  Lo
