Rathsallagh House Wedding Venue

Rathsallagh House

Hello all, I am back with my Wedding Venue Feature and this time the Spotlight is on the 18th Century Rathsallagh House Hotel.  On the 2nd June, I was kindly invited down to experience Rathsallagh House for the night. Although this post is sponsored all views and images are my own.

Rathsallagh House

I was kindly invited down as part of a special night for Rathsallagh couples. The package included a bottle of prosecco on ice in their room upon arrival, canapes, dinner, music in the bar, overnight accomdation, breakfast and discount vouchers for the Kildare Retail Village and Newbridge Silverware. I think this special night is such a lovely idea, we always enjoy going back to our wedding venue as it holds amazing memories. It is also important to take time out as a couple from time to time.

The returning couples varied in their years of marriage from one year to six years. It is a real testament to the venue, staff, and management that couples return time and time again for this special night. The next night will be in January if you are a past bride and groom then be sure to keep an eye on the Rathsallgh Facebook page for further details.

The Venue:

The drive up to Rathsallagh House was very spectacular, we were immediately met by the rolling green fields, golf course, sheep and immaculate landscape. Age-old trees tower over the house and landscape, they add to the beauty and serenity of the venue.

Rathsallagh was voted 2017 Leinster Hotel venue of the year at the Weddings Online Awards. Rathsallagh is a hidden gem located in Dunlavin, Co Wicklow and it sits on 260 acres of parkland. Rathsallgh is owned and run by the O'Flynn Famly and you certainly get that homely feel from the moment you step inside.

Log fires are dotted throughout the house, they add to the cosy, warm and intimate feeling of the house. The beautifully decorated drawing rooms are very relaxing, I literally felt like I was stepping back in time when I entered them.

The immaculate parkland offers stunning views from both inside the house and outside. The sun was shining during my stay so I got to see the venue in all of its glory. The picturesque views add a feeling of serenity to Rathsallagh.

Outside The Pavilion

If you follow my wedding venue features you will know that I have a slight fascination with windows and the views that they offer. I can safely say that the window views in Rathsallagh House did not disappoint. The views from the dining room, restaurant, and pavilion are just perfection.

Wedding:

When you book Rathsallgh for your wedding it is exclusively yours and there is no extra cost for hire. Both intimate and large weddings are catered for, from 50-200 guests. Rathsallagh also specialises in intimate weddings, they will provide candles to add that romantic feel and beautiful floral arrangements. There is also an option to have further celebrations the day after your wedding, you can chat to the Wedding Planner in relation to the options available.

Restaurant In Rathsallgh

Pretty window views in the Resturant

Resturant

The restaurant would be a perfect location for a smaller wedding. The room is filled with windows and doors that open out to a seated area. In the evening the house is beautifully lit and it adds to the magic of the venue.

The food and service in the restaurant are of a very high standard, the only way I could describe it is "luxurious dining". The night of my stay the restaurant was buzzing with previous brides and grooms, people celebrating special occasions and couples menu testing for their forthcoming weddings, a lovely atmosphere altogether. "Rathsallagh prides itself on wonderful cuisine sourced locally, many of the Herbs and Vegetables used are grown in our own Gardens"

At Rathsallagh Civil Ceremonies and Blessings are also catered for, with the option of having an indoor or outdoor celebration. Rathsallagh is a one-stop location for your wedding. You can have your ceremony, reception, and photographs all at the one location. A beauty room is also located in the Hotel. if you do choose to get married here you can have some fabulous treatments as part of your wedding preparations.

Lanterns outside The Pavilion

The Pavillion is the main wedding reception room, it seats up to 200 guests comfortably. Soft fabric is draped across the ceiling which adds to the romance of the room. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling creating a soft glow in the room. A bar is also located in the room, whenever I visit venues I always look out for this. I think It is an important element as it ensures your wedding guests are not separated as the evening celebrations start.

There is an option to add further decoration to the room or you can simply leave it as it is. Due to the neutral palette and setting of this room, it could hold various decoration themes such as; romantic, vintage, glamour and glitz and classic.

On the morning I was leaving The Pavilion was in the process of being set up for a wedding. In these pictures, it should be noted that the shabby chic flags you see in the background were hired in as part of the wedding setup. You do have the option of the chivari chair (pictured) or a fully covered chair as part of your wedding package with Rathsallagh.

There is plenty of space both inside and outside the house for your guests to mingle on the day of your wedding. With various options for serving canapes and prosecco on arrival, they could be served in the restaurant or outside, imagine sipping prosecco whilst taking in the views.

Accommodation:

Rathsallagh has 33 rooms (some can be twined and or trebled) and they have six additional rooms in their two Lodges, The Gate Lodge & Eagle Lodge

All the rooms are individually named after family members, another personal touch that I loved.  Another important note for the guests in heels the rooms are close to the house so no long walks for the ladies. There are also guest houses near the venue that your guests can avail of if you require further accommodation.

Entrance to Nina room

The outside

We stayed in the Nina Room, named after the owner's daughter. It is located in the courtyard just a short walk from the main house (20 Yards). This newly refurbished room had a modern feel to it, the decor was fresh with a Mediterranean influence. It felt like a mini apartment, it was spacious, bright and spotless. I loved the extras of the slippers by the bed and the bathrobes hanging in the bathroom and it comes complete with his and her sinks, so no fighting over the use of the sink.

Cosy bathrobe hangs on the bathroom door
From casually chatting to previous Rathsallgh couples on the night of my stay, I can see why they fell in love with this spectacular venue. They were glowing when talking to me about their perfect weddings. The night I stayed actually felt like a wedding but without the dress, maybe next time the wedding dresses could be worn (now that would be fun), the atmosphere was just fabulous.

If you are venue hunting, Rathsallgh House should be added to your list as a must. You can view Rathsallagh by appointment and all details are here , it is also a beautiful spot for a night away.

Flormar Revolution Lipstick In Burgundy Mission

These are the three berry colours available    I was delighted to receive a sample of the Revolution lipstick in burgundy mission, along with the lip liner to match. These were Kindly sent from RDC Communications . Flormar  was launched this year in Ireland and it has proven to be a huge success and a popular choice for those who want affordability and quality.  I tested this lipstick out over Christmas, as I am trying to be more adventurous and try out stronger colours, as I normally tend to stick with nude tones. This lipstick is a rich berry colour with blue undertones, having these undertones makes your teeth appear whiter.   "Revolution is Flormar premium lipstick containing shea butter, cocoa, olives, a super pigment and easy 8 hr staying power" . Swatch of lipstick and liner  Application Tips: Before application ensure your lips are in good condition especially in this harsh weather. Exfoliate to remove any dry skin and apply vase

Located between Balbriggan & Skerries. If you have ever visited here you will understand what I mean. Everytime I go to Ardgillan I literally fall in love with it all over again. Whether I go for coffee in the tea rooms, bring my daughters to the  playground or just walk around the grounds. I adore it and Ardgillan was recently featured on Lovin Dublin as the best park in Dublin to visit, now that's pretty cool. So onto the beautiful Castle, I met with Ann-Marie and Danielle and we chatt

Finally Contouring is getting the push

Anyone else as happy as me to see that contouring is not as popular in the makeup world. I personally could never get used to it. I think it looks amazing in photographers or on a night out when done right. If you prefer a more heavy look. I believe strobing has been around before it was just called highlighting then. So do not be confused!!! For me I prefer a more natural look when it comes to makeup. The whole idea with strobing is that you can see the skin and it is not heavily covered up.  I have been using the Mac Strobe Cream for a few months now. You can also strobe with powder.  Mary-Loumanizer by the Balm Mac Soft and Gentle  What I like about Mac Strobe? It makes the skin look radiant, fresh and healthy (for tired Mammies like me it's a must) It's easily applied. It's a no fuss product, there is no messing with it. It can be worn alone or added after foundation is applied. With some blush you are good to go.  Lo
