In October I attended The Shelbourne Wedding Forum. The Shelbourne is the perfect venue for a City Wedding and it is located adjacent to the extremely picturesque Stephan's Green. This has a very dreamy and romantic feel to it, have your pictures taken in Stephen's Green and then off to The Shelbourne for your amazing reception.

Set-up for wedding Ceremony |
The Hotel is everything I imagined it to be and I was in awe from the moment I walked through the doors. The Shelbourne is grand, opulent, lavish, luxurious and old wordily. The Wedding Forum offers Brides and Grooms the opportunity to see the hotel set-up as it would be for a wedding.
You also leave with valuable advice, tips and tricks from wedding experts. They will chat about various elements of your wedding from your wedding dress right up to the Honeymoon. I really enjoyed this part of the evening, it was an experience I have never had before. It is the kind of detail I love to see at a wedding evening. It was really intimate, so you have time to chat and ask questions.
The Great Room all set-up
The evening started with drinks and canapes on arrival. There was an opportunity to explore the various banqueting suites that offer many choices for weddings in terms of set-up and numbers. The team are also on hand to answer questions and to show you around. We then made our way to the forum, which was hosted by the fabulous Cybil Mulcahy. Later in the evening, we were brought down to the "The Great Room" to see what it is like all set-up for a wedding. The forum then ended with a beautiful showcase of the new collection by Stephaine Allin , it is exclusive to Myrtle Ivory.
The Shelbourne caters for both intimate and large weddings. From The Constitution Suite which caters for 20 guests to the Great Room which caters for 330 guests. There is really an option for every size.

Some tips from the experts:
Spoke about all things food related. Gary and his team will cater for whatever your needs are. Brides and Grooms are exploring different options for food on arrival i.e. afternoon signature drinks. They will also advise on your food choices, as depending on the season you are getting married in It can vary, especially when it comes to meats. "Assists Of Dessert" are proving to be a popular choice (we had this at our wedding. It consists of a selection of various desserts) Lastly it is your day, keep that in mind and try not to worry about everyone else.
Marietta Doran
Style Butler
Marietta covered everything from wedding dress shopping to adding in those extra details that you might not even think about. Reception slippers save your feet from the pain, as the evening reception is about having fun and relaxing. Choose a wedding perfume so you can hold that memory forever. Have a cashmere throw or shawl for the evening to put over your dress, especially if you are going to be outdoors. Have special dressing gowns for your wedding morning to have that glamorous feeling when getting ready. The jewellery and hair, think about it and ensure it complements your dress. You can also change your look up for the evening add or take away.
The Salon At The Shelbourne
The Salon opened up a year ago in The Shelbourne. They have an extensive list of treatments that you can have done. It is not as expensive as you might think either. They covered all things beauty, from hair care, skin to makeup. Opt for a soft dewy look when it comes to your makeup. Stick to what you know works best for you, it is about enhancing what you already have.
They also shared tips on the right hairstyle for you, depending on the style of your dress. i.e. high neckline dresses should go for an up style to elongate your neck, wearing a low cut dress, opt for a playful finish to your hair as this will frame your decolletage. I love that they have a "Hollywood Legends" signature treatment package named after the greats such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.

The wonderful Triona shared her top beauty products, tips and tricks. Invest in your skincare regime and do not get overwhelmed by all the products out there. Add a really good serum into your regime and if you need to visit a dermatologist and get advice on your skin then do so. "It's your wedding" and you want to have your skin in top condition for your big day. This is the one time you should take the opportunity to get done what you want.
Anna Hayden
Flowers By the Shelbourne
Anna is the in-house florist at The Shelbourne. Every floral display that you see in the hotel is made from "Flowers By The Shelbourne". The display's on the night of the Forum where stunning. There was a breathtaking display in the Constitution Suite and I can only describe it as a work of art. Some Tips from Anna, above all have trust in your florist. They have the expertise and they will know what colours and size boutiques will suit you. They take into account your dress, theme, bridesmaid dresses and even your height. Colours coming through for 2017 are metallics, rose gold and platinum. You can have all of these elements together or separately.
Louis Copeland
For the Men, Louis Copeland was on hand to share tips on suits for the Groom and Groomsmen. Their suits are tailored to perfection and you know you are getting high-end quality. Some tips: Navy blue is a popular colour, light check detail on suites, having a waistcoat in a different colour if you want something different. Louis Copeland also has a selection of lighter suites for weddings abroad and plenty of options for the day after the wedding or honeymoon.
If Conor McGregor wears them you know they are good. Louis Copeland has a great offer on at the moment, 3 suits for €999. They will also advise on style and colour. They are definitely an investment piece.
Keep an eye on The Shelbourne Hotel for the next wedding forum date. I would highly recommend that you go especially if you are looking for guidance and advice.

The event could not have gone more smoothly, and from my perspective, less stressfully. I was able to relax, let my hair down, and totally enjoy the party, and felt totally pampered and cared for by their manager. The food at wedding venues NYC was excellent, and the floral were gorgeous and reasonably priced.
