Hello all, this post is dedicated to Kiehl's Apothecary Preparations. What is that I hear you ask? Apothecary preparations is a high level of Personalized skincare.
It addresses the following skincare concerns:

WRINKLE REDUCTION

TEXTURE REFINING

VISIBLE REDNESS NEUTRALIZING
PORE MINIMIZING

BRIGHTENING

I find the older I get (mid-thirties ouch) the more focused I am on my skin, I have invested in my skincare more than I used to, by adding in some high-end products. I believe in paying for a good serum.

Although this product was kindly sent to me to try out, all views expressed are my own. In terms of using Kiehl's, this is my first time to use the brand and I was really intrigued to see what it was like on the skin.

Kiehls as a brand has been active since 1851 so I think it's safe to say that they know what they are doing and they know what works. This range takes the brand back to its roots of creating personalized skincare based on the consumer needs.

What is Apothecary Preparations?

I would describe it is a bespoke service for your skin. Eash serum is made up of three parts. Kiehl's Skin Strengthing Concentrate this is the base of the serum to which the two individual targeted complexes are then added. These complexes are chosen based on the skincare needs and concerns of the individual.

The complexes are chosen through an in-depth one to one consultation with Kiehl's. These consultations are exclusive to Arnotts Department Store. At the consultation, customers are asked to describe their two main skin concerns, whether it be wrinkles, rough texture, large pores, or dullness.

The Skin Strengthing Concentrate 

Once the areas of concern are identified the customers unique formal is put together. You will receive the formula in a personalized box. When at home you then add the complexes directly into the strengthing complex. Once they are in the bottle move the serum around to ensure they mix together, just do it for 30 seconds or so.

You will also receive a personal information card which includes your name, complex details, targeted areas, when to apply and how much to use. I thought this was brilliant and extremely detailed, which is what you would expect from such an in depth service.

What did I think?

I have been using my personalized serum for a month now. My two concerns were wrinkles and brightening.

Complex 1: Wrinkle reduction, containing the following ingredients, retinal concentrate & pro-retinal.

Complex 2: Brightening, containing the following ingredients, oil soluble vitamin C and scotch pine extract.

Why did I choose these two complexes? Well for me I had noticed that my skin was looking dull. I had hoped to get that fresh glow, like the glow I get after a facial. With the wrinkle complex, I wanted to use it as a preventative measure for my skin. As they say, "prevention is better than cure"

I apply two to three drops of the serum to my face nightly, it is important to note that I added the serum into my current skincare routine.

Follow your instructions, I only used the serum at night as directed as the ingredients are so pure.

As with all skincare, your diet and lifestyle will add to the condition of your skin both good and bad.

My results:

On applying the serum I did notice an instant radiance. It spreads really well and it has a very light scent so no overpowering smell.

I have noticed an overall improvement in my skin, I find my skin is more luminous and it has a glow.

When I apply foundation in the morning, I have noticed that it sits better on my skin and it looks flawless upon application.

I find that I can wear little makeup now e.g.some concealer and powder and my skin looks good with just that on.

I am using it a month and I still have loads left in the bottle, I am still using it and I will continue to do so. I actually look forward to applying it every night as the final step in my night time routine.

My verdict would be to give a go particularly if you have certain skin concerns. It is an investment for your skin and a luxury product.
