The Rainy Days Project

So I wanted to share this project with you. I came across it on Instagram through Irish Blogger shellysaysso . She shared this project on her page,I then read up on the initiative which lead me to contact Livia directly. I have since decided to become part of this project and I would encourage you all to get involved.

What's it all about:

The Rainy Days Project is a initiative by blogger Livia. The project is aimed at raising awareness around mental health whilst highlighting the amount of mental health conditions that people can carry and struggle with on a daily basis.

How do you get involved:

Contact Livia via e-mail,twitter or intstagram all of the relevant links can be found on her blog (Livia). She is looking for people from around the world to get involved and participation is open until the 30th September.

Once you sign up she will then assign you with a mental health condition, i.e. depression. Once you have this, it is then up to you to find out one fact about it. When you have your fact, you take a selfie or get someone to take your picture. With the condition you were given written on your forehead and also holding up a piece of paper with the fact on it, which is submitted to Livia.

Livia will then create a blog post, containing all of the images, to further educate people on the many mental health issues that are out there.

Why I am doing it:

I think this is a fantastic and powerful initiative. An image can speak a thousand words and I always think that people relate more to imagery, especially around social issues. My own background and study is in Community and Youth Work and this is another passion of mine. The ethics and values that surround this work are part of me. Empathy is one of these values and if more people had this value and where not quick to judge. We would live in a more understanding and open world (now wouldn't that be great). But I do think that more often then not people are understanding and open.

Lack of awareness and stigma is the biggest blockage in normalising mental health issues. People, both young and old, still have a fear around talking about it or seeking help, due to the negative reaction they might receive.  Bressie spoke about his personal struggle with depression last year at TedEx and the response he has received since this has been amazing and has opened up the conversation again around mental health, particularly in Men.

If you do one thing today please head over to Livia Blog (linked through this post) and sign up. For as Livia Says "We all have Rainy days" just some of us have them more then others.

Bellingham Castle Wedding Venue

The Entrance  Hello all, this post feature will be the final one for now as part of my wedding venue feature. With this feature the spotlight is on Bellingham Castle which I fell in love with it, of course, each of the venues has charmed me in different ways. As you will see from the pictures the was shining for my  visit which made it extremely easy for me to take pictures of this breathtaking venue. I received a very warm welcome and I was shown around by the lovely Ciara. She explained that herself and Patrick look after the needs of Brides & Grooms. They are on hand for the run up to your big day.  The Castle is, as you would expect, extremely opulent. The Castle was renovated and re-opened in 2014.  There are up to 150 weddings a year here, so you guessed right, it is a highly sought after venue. As always early booking is essential, do not put booking your venue on the ...

Flormar Revolution Lipstick In Burgundy Mission

These are the three berry colours available    I was delighted to receive a sample of the Revolution lipstick in burgundy mission, along with the lip liner to match. These were Kindly sent from RDC Communications . Flormar  was launched this year in Ireland and it has proven to be a huge success and a popular choice for those who want affordability and quality.  I tested this lipstick out over Christmas, as I am trying to be more adventurous and try out stronger colours, as I normally tend to stick with nude tones. This lipstick is a rich berry colour with blue undertones, having these undertones makes your teeth appear whiter.   "Revolution is Flormar premium lipstick containing shea butter, cocoa, olives, a super pigment and easy 8 hr staying power" . Swatch of lipstick and liner  Application Tips: Before application ensure your lips are in good condition especially in this harsh weather. Exfoliate to remove any dry ...
