Wedding Venue Tips

If you're recently engaged the next natural step will be to start looking for a venue. If you are getting married in a Church my advice would be to book your church first, especially if you have your heart set on a certain church/ location. If you book your venue and then go to book the church and the date you want is gone it can lead to a whole host of complications.

My tips:

Limit your venue viewing to three a day.  Anymore and it could be overwhelming and will most likely lead to a row.

Have you got a theme for wedding? if YES, think, does the venue have to match it.

Visit with an open mind.

Have your budget in mind in terms of what you can pay and ask what are your options in terms of payment.

Wen I tryed on my wedding dress I got that WOW feeling and I felt this with our venue and that that was  before we even got inside.

Have a date set and a fairly good idea of your numbers.

A bit like dress shopping do not bring loads of people with you as everyone has an opinion. Keep to you and your partner or someone who you trust to go along with what you are looking for.

Is
there space for people to dance after dinner. Can we see samples of what you provide e.g. chair covers, centrepieces, lighting, chairs etc.

If you're getting married in the venue, check what the setup is like, after if it is all in the one space i.e dinner and ceremony.

Bare in mind distance for your guests to travel from church to venue  (a 3 hour drive from church to vene can be a lot)

Visit when a wedding fair is on. Also visit when the vene is set up for wedding. You can get great ideas from this in terms of room decoration

Check if the venue has a one wedding policy. You may not want to bump into another bride on your wedding day.

Ask about extra costs bar extension, room decor and marquee hire (if required).

Taste the food in the hotel before you book, go for lunch or dinner. This will  enable you to get a sense of the service & quality.

As we are never guaranteed the weather in Ireland, think about your pictures. If it was raining on your day where would you go to get pictures taken in the venue.

If the hotel has built in extras, i.e. a piano, then think about using it as part of your reception entertainment for when guest arrive. Our venue had a piano in the bar so we had a pianist playing it when our guests arrived. We were married in Roganstown.

Do not take the first quote given in terms of venue, food. Try and haggle with them or ask for a complimentary room maybe  for your parents, if the venue has a spa then enquire about a package for a spa experience. If you're making a weekend out of it ask for a special rate for dinner or barbeque on the second night.

If the venue you are looking at has wedding packages ask can you switch them up. You might want to add on or take away certain elements.

If your venue is supplying the table centerpieces as part of your package ask for the suppliers name. We did this as we wanted to change the vases to larger ones. I wanted a martini style glass on some of the tables. It was no problem for the supplier and it was done at only a small extra cost.

If your venue is an exclusive hire i.e. a house. Is there plenty of accommodation nearby for guests.

Most importantly enjoy it and the experience of  going to the different venues.

Even if there is mayhem going on in the background don't let her see it. Listoke Distillery & Gin School:...

Kiehl's Apothecary Preparations Review

Image from Kiehl's website Hello all, this post is dedicated to Kiehl's Apothecary Preparations. What is that I hear you ask? Apothecary preparations is a high level of Personalized skincare. It addresses the following skincare concerns: WRINKLE REDUCTION TEXTURE REFINING VISIBLE REDNESS NEUTRALIZING PORE MINIMIZING BRIGHTENING I find the older I get (mid-thirties ouch) the more focused I am on my skin, I have invested in my skincare more than I used to, by adding in some high-end products. I believe in paying for a good serum. Although this product was kindly sent to me to try out, all views expressed are my own. In terms of using Kiehl's, this is my first time to use the brand and I was really intrigued to see what it was like on the skin. Kiehls as a brand has been active since 1851 so I think it's safe to say that they know what they are doing and they know what works. This range takes the brand back to its roots of creating persona...

The Bridal Studio Drogheda

Hello all, I am back with my bridal shop feature and I have recently visited two bridal shops. I was so excited to visit them, I get so much joy from doing these features. Getting to meet and chat to the fabulous Women behind these shops is a real pleasure for me. I always come away feeling energised and I  also  learn from it.  I just know you are going to love both of these shops. When visiting I got the insider information on trends, tips for brides and what you can expect when you visit these shops. *This post is not sponsored*  This post is dedicated to The Bridal Studio in Drogheda .  From the outside, the studio appears modest in size but once you enter it you will be pleasantly surprised as it has so much space. It is also spotless and the dresses are kept in immaculate condition, as they are covered in a clear bag when hung up. This ensures that you, the bride are trying on clean and fresh dresses. They have a...
